The May/June issue of Go Multi magazine leads with a world first. In February this year, three intrepid South Africans trekked unsupported across the desolate Empty Quarter desert between Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The Absa Xplore Empty Quarter Expedition, led by renowned mountaineer and adventurer Alex Harris, saw the trio pull a 400kg cart with all their supplies over 1,200km in 40 days. “You won’t believe what these guys went through. They showed some unbelievable spirit,” says Go Multi editor, Hugh Pines. Eight pages have been dedicated to this amazing journey along with stunning imagery.

The cover athlete is South African Dakar Rally ace, Giniel de Villiers. We chat to him about his love for mountain biking and how it helps him in motorsport. Michael Mol is this issue’s 10 Questions With… interviewee. The well-known medical doctor, TV presenter and public speaker has a passion for helping people find true significance and a holistic, balanced approach to the world they live in. It goes without saying that he’s passionate about health and fitness as well.
