Most fish are caught either with real bait or a close imitation of something they would eat. In addition to their feeding urge, however, many species open another window for anglers to exploit to get them to take their lure. That instinct is aggression. Knowing how to exploit this to your advantage can make a huge difference in your angling success. It can at times be your only resort, because fish that are actively defending a nest, often stop feeding on normal prey and focus exclusively on keeping intruders or competitors away from the nest and females.
