MEGA’s April issue goes back to the person who deserves all credit for striving, loving, forgiving, dreaming, and pushing through amidst life’s hurdles: You. In other pages, MEGA puts the spotlight on designers, fashion influencers, and local brands who are in full control of their artistry and talent: Joey Samson and RJ Santos (two designers, who got into a deep conversation about mentorship and designing in different eras), Marina Summers, Paul Cabral, Baúl, Suyen Salazar, Paola de Leon Lorenzo, AC Bonifacio, and Kyline Alcantara. David Guison, under the MEGA Man section, also talks about finding his own taste in the world of scents.

Lastly, as the temperature begins to rise, we dictate the must-haves for the summer season: “man-repeller” makeup, distressed dresses, stacked jewelry, beads, etc.

This March, MEGA disposes traditional society’s notion of feminine power. Portraying the impact of sisterhood and unity among women are our cover girls, beauty queens Michelle Marquez Dee and Anntonia Porsild, both of whom joined pageantry to have a platform to voice out their advocacies. Through their stories, we are made more aware of how women can contribute to alleviating some of the world’s biggest issues—it can even form stronger friendships among countries.

Also in this issue are artists who create to push forward ideas for women and by women, including designer Yong Davalos, artist Ayka Go, content creator Nicole Morales, ice skater Skye Chua, and influencer Leila Alcasid. Front and center are Angelina Cruz, Hannah Pangilinan, and Lorin Gutierrez Bektas—three fierce and independent young women who are carving their own path to success.

The word beauty has never been more inclusive, accepting, and open than it has in the last few years. In our October issue, we talk about this massive shift and how it impacts the world of fashion. Plus, Rajo Laurel, who has helped shaped the fashion industry for the last 30 years is showing us how growth is now more important than ever to a virtuoso.

There is more than one way to define and create art, but in the end, art should make you feel something. This June, MEGA celebrates art in fashion, an honoring artists and their supporters, all of whom have helped move the local artistic landscape. 

We also put a spotlight on Sheila Romero, our co-chair for the MEGA Ball 2023, which explores the role of art in the growth of fashion, and vice versa. Furthermore, we write about our conversation with the great Ramon Orlina.

MEGA’s annual Shopping Issue dives into the thriving world of collaborations and relationships. Fronting our cover is Maine Mendoza whose on a mission to go after meaningful pursuits outside of spotlight.
