The Ramayan is the most adored tome of the Sanatan Dharma (or the followers of the Hindu faith) like the Vedas. The Ramayan describes the doings of Lord Ram in a simple way and establishes the Lord as an ideal for all to follow. Despite being the incarnation of the Blessed Lord Vishnu, Ram suffered the travails of the human life like an ordinary being and yet established the norms of propriety before all humankind. The author of the Ramayan, Sage Valmiki, has vividly described all achievements of Ram and inspired all to seek the ideals created by the Maryada Purushottam (man par excellence). No doubt, we have had his followers all over the world in every age and aeon.
