The big fat Indian Wedding just got bigger!

In the last two months of 2022 alone, 3.75 lakh crore INR (an approximate 46bn USD) were spent on weddings. And according to a report, this figure was expected to reach 159 billion dollars or 13 lakh crore INR) in the first six months of 2023.

Around 32 lakh weddings took place between November ‘22 and February ‘23. Indians love weddings, making for a billion-dollar wedding services industry! And even if weddings have a smaller guest list post Covid, the money being spent has increased.

For Salons, Bridal business encompasses the groom, the family and friends too. Months of prep and trials are done in salons before the actual wedding comes around! In fact, the revenue potential of the wedding season is so big that several exclusive Bridal Studios have sprung up which go beyond the hair, make-up, beauty and nail services, to offer also advanced aesthetic treatments for the skin, hair and body.
