Gold’s Historic Milestone!
It’s been a record-breaking year for gold as gold prices have crossed a historic threshold, soaring to US$3,500 per ounce, and Rs. 1 lakh per 10 grams in India, a staggering 30 per cent surge from Rs. 77,000 a year ago. There could be several reasons why precious metal has hit a fresh all-time high, but some of the key drivers are escalating global uncertainties, tariff wars and weaker US dollar, which has reaffirmed gold’s status as a safe haven asset.
Gold hovering around Rs 1 lakh per 10 grams in India ahead of Akshay Tritiya Festival which is taking place on 30th April 2025, is likely to result in a drop in the quantity of gold purchased due to restricted customer’s budget, believes some of the jewellery experts. However, despite hiked gold prices the jewellery industry is optimistic that the customers will gradually accept the price changes in times ahead and the sales are bound to take place, believes another expert. There are more possibilities that buyers might opt for light-weight and diamond jewellery instead of heavy ones.  Therefore, to make the purchase easy and affordable most of the jewellers are already announcing new campaigns and special price-locking offers for the festive season to allure more customers which will help in resulting optimum business.
Additionally, due to the ongoing wedding season, the higher-ticket purchases will remain stable
Further, it is believed that the market is expected to remain volatile during 2025 for gold and customer’s confidence in gold will be much stronger, as investing in this high-end luxury product is considered worthy of every single penny invested,
