A Finn Valley councillor has described a new scheme aimed at helping to “revitalise” rural towns and villages, as a “drop in the ocean”.
Ballybofey based councillor, Patrick McGowan said that €380,000 allocated for Donegal as part of the government’s new €10m Town and Village Renewal Scheme for Rural Ireland is merely “tokenism” on part of the government.
The scheme is hoped to revitalise up to 200 towns and villages across the country.
