This month brings the first of the bank holidays, as we celebrate Easter. While we loathe to be cliché, at HomeStyle HQ we can’t resist some DIY at this time of year. I’ve always been a big fan of paint, and I’m loving the new braver ways we’re all choosing to use this affordable medium in our homes. On page 65 Crown’s Colour Consultant talks us through some original ways to get creative, from combining contrasting colours to artistic effects. If you’re currently renting, we have a handy guide on how you can make the space your own with ideas that your landlord should approve of, starting on page 55. These crafty tricks can also come in handy for homeowners looking to update their rooms on a budget. Also in this issue we have more amazing homes and room makeovers. Cover girl Bronwen’s kitchen revamp on page 76 is a particular fave; it has all the makings of a designer refurb but cost less than you’d think.
