Welcome to our Fall 2020 issue of Autostrada,
We hope this issue finds you and your family safe and healthy during these challenging times. We’ve been fortunate to host a few socially distant Autostrada events during this pandemic and have the opportunity to bring the automotive community together from a distance.
As publishers, we are continuously on the lookout for unique cover stories that convey the passion, history and journey that we all share. There is definitely no debate in this case with Emilio Rivera who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of El Padrino on the FX original series, Sons of Anarchy and its spin-off show, Mayans M.C.
Emilio is a true car enthusiast, who shares with us his love affair with his 1948 Chevy Fleetline, which he first spotted cruising through his neighbourhood as a young man. From his humble beginnings in his Frogtown neighbourhood in LA, Emilio has never forgotten his roots. He is a straight up guy who we are proud to call a friend and have enjoyed his telephone calls providing us updates on the progress of his restoration and his new Panhead bike build. We will definitely take him up on his offer of dinner, cigars and a ride on the Harleys through the canyons next time we are in the Los Angeles area.
We are extremely thankful to our good friend Estevan Oriol for the introduction and his commitment to making this issue a success with his artistic photographs that accompany the article.. We were fortunate to feature Estevan a few issues back and you can catch his documentary “ LA Originals “ on Netflix.
