Mumbai September 5, 2020. Camel Art Foundation, which has been conducting credible art activities for the artists and art students in India since 1998 has today launched the 2020 edition of the contest. The activity is supposed to bring some excitement and enthusiasm in the art fraternity affected by the global pandemic COVID – 19. This contest is being conducted and fully supported as a notfor-profit engagement by Kokuyo Camlin Limited, the pioneering and leading manufacturer of art material in India. The objective behind this was to provide exposure and encouragement to Indian art and artists, says the organizers. The 2020 edition is called the CAF Annual Art &
Design Contest – 2020, and is packed with many innovative and participant friendly features.
Ever since the inception, the contest was being organized on the basis of the mediums like oil painting, water colour painting etc. However the trends have changed a lot since and the artists are experimenting a lot with the mediums also, along with the forms and styles. Hence to accommodate them and remove the boundaries of the mediums, the contest would now be held on the basis of
genre, like portraits, landscapes, still-life etc. This will also facilitate the participation of junior art college students who practise a lot with these genres but their exposure to mediums is limited. They can easily submit their best works in these genres and widen their chances.
