After a slow start in Brisbane, the Kiwi’s showed typical grit in Perth and Adelaide.Day/Night Test cricket announced itself on the world stage in Adelaide, with a thrilling 3 wicket win to Australia and it looks like the format is here to stay.The new look Australian Cricket Team under the guidance of Steve Smith, confirmed that are a very good cricket team and tough to beat in Australia. With world-class players David Warner and Steve Smith and the emerging Mitchell Starc, the future looks very bright for the Australian Test team.Congratulations to Mitchell Johnson on a wonderful Test career. (See Matt Nicholson’s article on page 30). Mitchell was one of those very special players who could single-handedly turn the shape and the direction of a Test match. He will leave Test cricket as one of Australia great fast bowlers.I’m looking forward to a summer filled with great cricket. The West Indies arrive for a Test series; we have the hugely popular and exciting Big Bash League and the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League to look forward to. It should be great!Once again we have contributions from some of the game’s best past and present players including Justin Langer.
