Welcome to the 3rd edition of Cricket Life Magazine.It’s great to see Test cricket alive and well.  After a slow start in Brisbane, the Kiwi’s showed typical grit in Perth and Adelaide.Day/Night Test cricket announced itself on the world stage in Adelaide, with a thrilling 3 wicket win to Australia and it looks like the format is here to stay.The new look Australian Cricket Team under the guidance of Steve Smith, confirmed that are a very good cricket team and tough to beat in Australia.  With world-class players David Warner and Steve Smith and the emerging Mitchell Starc, the future looks very bright for the Australian Test team.Congratulations to Mitchell Johnson on a wonderful Test career. (See Matt Nicholson’s article on page 30).  Mitchell was one of those very special players who could single-handedly turn the shape and the direction of a Test match. He will leave Test cricket as one of Australia great fast bowlers.I’m looking forward to a summer filled with great cricket. The West Indies arrive for a Test series; we have the hugely popular and exciting Big Bash League and the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League to look forward to.
