Scots Tory is charged with spying for China

A TORY parliamentary researcher has been charged with spying for China, police announced yesterday.

Chris Cash is accused of breaching the Official Secrets Act by providing information to a foreign state.

Scots-born Cash, 29, was charged alongside Christopher Berry, 32.

Both will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Arrested in March 2023, Cash held a parliamentary pass for several years.

He was closely linked to security minister Tom Tugendhat.
