While the treatment room at United's training base is packed with at least 10 injured players, Fernandes continues to play on through the pain barrier.
Fernandes, sporting heavy strapping on his right hand, hauled United to a 4-2 victory against Sheffield United on Wednesday after trailing twice, scoring a double and setting up Rasmus Hojlund's final goal.
The Portugal playmaker has not missed a game through injury since making his United debut in a 0-0 draw against Wolves on February 1, 2020.
