The very utterance of the word Atha is indicative of auspiciousness.
Asan practice or Yoga poses as exercise in yoga is one of the most known and sought after aspects in today's world. Atha can help cultivate the feeling with which one should approach the yoga asan practice. Being fully present in the here and the now, not distracted, and with lot of auspiciousness, sacredness. It's a prayer, if you like, an offering could be how it feels like.
