The transfer window is making January duller every single year
David Moyes commented a few weeks ago that he believed it would be far better if the winter transfer market was confined to a week or even a day as is the case in Italy.
And after the latest window I am totally in agreement with him after watching the media promote the worst fiction I can remember during my time in the game. It’s been shameful.
I refer, of course, to the thoroughly disgraceful ‘Andy Carroll for Chelsea’ story that dominated the headlines for days on end.
It wasn’t true when it first emerged in The Sun and I had no hesitation in attempting to destroy it there and then on Claret and Hugh.
