But how does the modern man of today navigate through the labyrinth of dating apps, machines, and the accompanying Os and 1s? How does one get out of the ever-moving circle of modern dating? Beyond that, do men just want to be with someone for the sake of it, or are there subtle nuances about masculine vulnerability that often get dislodged in this discussion? We dig deep and here is what you should be doing and what you shouldn't to get it right.

One of my earliest memories of getting back on a dating app is of confusion and feeling lost. Naturally as one would, I then for the next few months, lifted bios and jokes from reddit to no avail. A friend who stumbled on my profile once remarked, “Your jokes look stolen and nothing on your profile tells me anything about you.” That’s when the realisation hit, I can’t half-ass this. To save my fellow brethren from a similar timewasting tactic, I spoke to Samarpita Samaddar, India Communications Director, Bumble, on the dos and don’ts of the app. Excerpts:
