We both considered my predicament. I’d parked too close to the wall, so the passenger side of my car was lodged behind the frame of the garage door. I couldn’t back out and I couldn’t pull up.

How had this happened? After all, we have a large double garage. There should have been plenty of room. But I have to admit it wasn’t the first time I’d done this. In the past, by maneuvering the car a few inches forward and back, I’d been able to ease it far enough to clear the doorjamb.
