Prior to the Bahrain Grand Prix world champions Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel were being written off. They simply were not the dominant force of a year earlier. In Bahrain the downfall theories went to shreds as Vettel bounced back to secure a hard fought and deserved victory. He also took command of the points standings, while his main rivals: McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes faltered. The F1 circus heads to Europe with four different winners out of four races, and the closest contest in ages to enthrall fans. In this issue we take a look back on a controversial, but intriguing Bahrain weekend.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was an amazing race, Undoubtedly the best of the year and right up there among the classics in the seven star setting of the Yas Marina Circuit.
Kimi Raikkonen took one of the most popular victories in recent memory. Sebastian Vettel drove the race of his life from the back of the field to third place and Fernando Alonso reduced the points gap at the top of the table to ten points with two rounds to go.

The British Grand Prix weekend was a big one for Mark Webber, made even bigger a few day afterwards as Red Bull confirmed him for yet another year in the team.

Early May is always a bittersweet month, no matter what year, as we are confronted with memories of two fatal accidents which stole from us two of the sport’s most loved stars – Ayrton Senna (1 May 1994) and Gilles Villeneuve 8 May 1982) – we did our Ayrton homage in the last issue and this week we pay tribute to Gilles.

It’s is always great for F1 when a driver wins his first grand prix, a coming of age no matter how young or old the driver is - in this instance, after another action packed race, Nico Rosberg finally did the business. Rosberg’s victory in China for Mercedes on Sunday made him only the third son of a winning Formula One driver to triumph in the sport since the championship started in 1950. Graham Hill and Damon Hill, Gilles Villeneuve and Jacques Villeneuve - now Nico and Keke Rosberg. Both Villeneuve and Hill (of junior variety) went on to become world champions....
