In its brief history on the F1 calendar, Singapore has always delivered drama and incident packed races and the 2012 edition was no different. It is always great to see Sebastian Vettel on the top step of a podium where he is genuinely at his happiest and most noble. Michael Schumacher grabbed headlines but for all the wrong reasons, Lewis Hamilton was the unluckiest guy on race day when he was forced to park with a gearbox failure, Fernando Alonso again popped up on the podium against the odds, Jenson Button picked up the pieces for McLaren. The British Grand Prix weekend was a big one for Mark Webber, made even bigger a few day afterwards as Red Bull confirmed him for yet another year in the team.

Rosberg’s victory in China for Mercedes on Sunday made him only the third son of a winning Formula One driver to triumph in the sport since the championship started in 1950.
