Most people find their energy bills go up in winter, which is the last thing any of us needs with the global cost-of-living crisis. Thankfully, there are also plenty of affordable ways to keep your home cosy!
GRAB AN ELECTRIC THROW
Turn off that energy-wasting heater (or at least turn it down) and plug in a toasty, warm electric throw. Instead of a conventional electric blanket, which is placed under your sheets, an electric throw can be used on the couch, at your desk or over the top of your duvet. On average, electric blankets and throws cost about 6.5 cents an hour, compared to some electric heaters, which can cost around 28 cents an hour.
