When you hear 'action camera', you think GoPro - and the Hero12 Black is the new flagship, poised to clip onto helmets and handlebars the world over while also serving as a compact vlogging system and kid-proof family cam.

GoPro has brought back the same sensor first introduced on the Hero11 Black but made it even easier to use, adding HDR video, a 1/4in tripod thread and Bluetooth mic recording to the mix. So for the first time you can hook up your wireless buds to a GoPro, and it'll pick up what you say even if you're away tearing down a ravine.

Recording 5.3K video at 60fps for long periods could send older  GoPros into a heat-induced tailspin, especially in hot weather; but run times at maxed-out resolutions are improved, and the interface has been refined.
