A brace apiece by Omari Hutchinson and Ali Al-Hamadi helped Town leapfrog above Leeds United ahead of the Yorkshire side’s home match with Millwall today.
Three first-half goals put Ipswich in complete control at Portman Road with Cameron Burgess and Nathan Broadhead adding to Hutchinson’s 15th-minute opener.
Hutchinson added a sublime fourth goal soon after half-time before sub-Al-Hamadi struck twice late on as the Tractor Boys recorded their biggest win of the season.
“I thought it was an outstanding performance from pretty well first minute to last in all phases of the game,” said McKenna.
“We showed our identity, our style, our culture in the group.
