RESIDENTS of a West London town which has been earmarked for a string of new high rise developments have called the idea “bizarre”.

- By PHILIP JAMES LYNCH

Feltham, which is currently considered to be “low density’, may soon see towers across six sites reaching 14 storeys, with the details revealed in a recently released draft masterplan.

Hounslow Council released the updated Feltham Masterplan in May. However, the plans received a mixed response from people on the streets of Feltham.

Julie Fay, a long-term Feltham resident told the LDRS that the town needs more investment in facilities before any new towers are built. She said: “There's no point if we haven't got more schools or infrastructure.

“There’s nothing to come to Feltham for; Argos, the pharmacy, everything is gone, we only have the basics. They [the council] should come off their ivory towers and spend a day in Feltham.”

Helen has lived in the town for several years and is a nurse in the NHS. She told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) that she finds the plan “bizarre”.
