Closing its 36th-anniversary season, Singapore Ballet presents Swan Lake from Dec 12 to 15, accompanied by the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra.

The evening of Dec 12 featured Kwok Min Yi in the iconic dual roles of Odette and Odile, and Satoru Agetsuma as Prince Siegfried.
Swan Lake is more than a classic. It is a historical and technical benchmark for any ballet company. Its demands require not just the leads but also the entire cast to perform with stamina and precision.
The audience was aware of this, as evident in the thunderous applause following Kevin Zong's Act I Pas de Trois solo, a dazzling sequence of leaps where gravity seemed to become irrelevant.
Yet, the true alchemy of Swan Lake lies not just in technical exactitude, but also in the ability to weave its poignant story through nuanced performances. Here, the lead cast shone.
