Govt appoints Vivek Chaturvedi as new CBIC Chairman

The government on Saturday announced the appointment of Vivek Chaturvedi as the new Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the elevation, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
Chaturvedi, a 1990-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer, takes over the top post from Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, who retired on 28 November, 2025, upon completing his tenure.
