Odisha Keen on Developing Metal-Based Manufacturing Value Chain

Making a strong pitch for investment in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said Odisha tops the country in production of both crude and stainless steel and is keen on developing a metal-based manufacturing value chain.
Addressing a session at the India Steel 2025 conference in Mumbai today, the Chief Minister emphasized the abundance of mineral wealth in the state and the successful auction of several mineral blocks.
"We are transitioning from a model of resource extraction to value creation."
Odisha's Vision 2036 for Industrial Development outlines a bold roadmap that focuses on strengthening annual steel production by 2030, requiring about 190 million tons of iron ore to be made available within the state.
