The weather office expects no let-up in the heavy rains lashing parts of Maharashtra and has issued a red alert in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad districts and an orange alert in Palghar.
As many as 18 people died as rains lashed parts of Maharashtra in 24 hours in various incidents such as road accidents, short circuits, wall collapses, and drowning.
