Tavistock pub crowned one of best

The Cornish Arms is the highest ranked among six pubs in Devon recognised for their food in the 2023 list of Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs. Run by chef John Hooker, it is 12th on the list, up two places from last year.

Named because it was the last coaching inn before Cornwall, it offers "good honest food and drink in warm welcoming surroundings".

The Cornish Arms says on its website that it serves "great-tasting dishes with little fuss, classic combinations and lots of flavour. We are committed to sourcing local and seasonal produce but above all it is the quality that counts."
