Tavistock C ladies cause a big upset against B team rivals

LADIES

THERE was a minor surprise in the Ladies' Division Four when Tavistock C upset the club rankings by defeating their B team by 30 games, winning 63-33.

Julie Wigmore and Sue Parsons were unbeaten for the C team winning 36 games, with Mary Harold and Olivia Clark winning the other 27 games.

Pat Hexter has joined Saltash from St Budeaux and made her debut at Looe B, but the team were again without Jill Cansfield and suffered a heavy 72-9 defeat.

The match at Plympton C was a much closer affair, with the home team relying on Jo Jackson and Pam Ellis winning 33-10 to give the team a 59-33 victory over Devonshire C.

In Division One, the result at St Budeaux was never in doubt, as the A team were far too good for the B team, winning 72-6.

Also winning by a large margin were Devonshire A by 72-10 against Mannamead B. Although Plympton A were beaten 63-28 at Mannamead A, Nicky Trevaskis and Fiona Crutchley scored a good 18-9 win for Plympton over Katherine Bell and Libby Dickenson.

Alex Theyer and Roanna George were in dominant form for Mannamead with a 36-7 scoreline.

Georgia Jones and Sophie Murray won both their matches in Division Two, for Devonshire B, at Ivybridge A, winning 33 games. Unfortunately, the team only totalled 41, with Ivybridge hanging on to win 44-41.

All four players enjoyed the match when Hill Lane A went to Yelverton A.
