A SCHEME aimed at reducing light pollution at night has been launched by a Plymouth lecturer at an international conference led by the United Nations.
Dr Thomas Davies, Lecturer in Marine Conservation at the University of Plymouth, is one of the coleaders of the Global Ocean Artificial Light at Night Network (GOALANN) initiative.
Scientists, policymakers, and marine and environmental professionals across the world are being encouraged to sign up to the new initiative highlighting some of the global threats posed by light pollution.
It was launched on Wednesday at the United Nations Ocean Decade Conference in Barcelona.
