COMMUNITY HOMES CEO SET TO RETIRE IN SEPTEMBER
By SHANNON BROWN
Housing chief's own experience inspires his work

A PLYMOUTH housing chief says his own upbringing inspired him to create change in communities.

John Clark, who is Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) chief executive, was adopted as a child and raised in a council house in Middlesbrough.

The 62-year-old said he has always had a “passion” for social housing and remembers watching It’s a Wonderful Life with his mum after his dad died.

It was this film that inspired “pretty much everything” John has done and believed in ever since.

Mr Clark said he’s always felt responsible to give something back and he’s dedicated his time to embedding himself within various groups across the city to bring the voice of residents to skills, health, business and regeneration forums.
