Family pay touching tribute to tragic teen as fundraiser set up

The “broken” family of a teenager who died in hospital a week after he was hit by a van have paid tribute to him.

David Bark, from Wigtown, passed away in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on Saturday after being hit by a white Ford Transit van on the A75 near Carsluith on April 18.

Tributes flooded in on social media from the family of the 18-year-old.

David “Dougie” Bark said: “Absolutely broken! Love you forever and always wee man.”

Rebecca Bark added: “Forever young.”

A fundraiser has since been launched to help the family with funeral costs, raising more than £4,000.

Organiser Sean Little wrote: “After hearing the devastating news the last few days we wanted to do what we could to help.

“Life can be so cruel.

“Nobody should have to go through the pain of losing a child.
