No injuries were reported in the incident, which is being seen as a result of significant delays in the completion of the parallel taxi track at the airport.

The accident led to the aircraft being grounded. Passengers who were to board the flight that was to take off for Sharjah at 12.15 am, were accommodated on another flight around 4 am.

The Air India Express flight (VT-ATJ) from Sharjah carrying 160 passengers landed at 11.15 pm on Thursday and was taxiing when it struck a parked dumper truck on the unfinished parallel taxi track while taxiing to the apron, leading to damage to its wing.
