Five Indians made it to lists of influential women, with Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman joining US Vice President Kamala Harris in the Forbes' 19th annual list of 'World's 100 Most Powerful Women' of 2022, while actor Priyanka Chopra and three others made it to BBC's 100 Women list of influential figures of the year.

Sitharaman is at number 36 on the Forbes' list, which named "innovators and instigators who are leading on the world stage to redefine traditional power structures". This is the fourth year in a row that Sitharaman made it to the list, the 2022 edition of which was released on Tuesday. The minister was in the 37th place last year, 41st in 2020, and 34th in 2019.
