Court raps EC, orders review of Vyshna's voter status

November 18, 2025

The Kerala High Court has directed the State Election Commission to reconsider its decision to remove Vyshna Suresh from the supplementary voters’ list for the upcoming local body elections.

- HD Bureau

The move follows a petition filed by the Congress party, which is challenging the Commission's action against Vyshna, a candidate for the Muttada ward in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. The court raised concerns about the propriety of her removal, suggesting that the Commission’s actions appeared to lack due process.

Vyshna, 24, a young and promising member of the United Democratic Front, was initially declared ineligible to contest after her name was struck from the voters list.
