VHP protests arrest over 'hurtful' post

Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) gathered at Sewri police station on Sunday afternoon to submit a memorandum over the “illegal” arrest of a youth booked for outraging religious feelings through a social media post.

On October 2, around 400 to 500 people had gathered near the police station to protest against the “offensive” videos on Prophet Mohammad that had been allegedly released on social media by Chaudhary. Rohit Khot, senior inspector, said that Chaudhary had been detained as a precautionary measure to prevent a law and
