9 Days On, 247 Victims of AI Crash Identified

A total of 247 victims of the June 12 Air India plane crash have been identified through DNA tests and 232 bodies have been handed over to their families, officials said on Saturday.
AHMEDABAD:
According to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital Superintendent Dr. Rakesh Joshi, of the 247 victims, 175 were Indian nationals, 7 were from Portugal, 52 were from the United Kingdom, one was from Canada, and 12 were non-passengers who died due to the crash impact.
Fifteen families are expected to collect the remains of their loved ones in the coming days, with the administration and health department actively coordinating the process, Joshi added.
