Briton among seven aid staff killed in Israeli air strike on Gaza convoy

A BRITON and six other aid workers distributing food in Gaza have been killed in an Israeli air strike, their charity said today, in an "unforgivable" tragedy that sparked mounting international dismay.
The seven who also included an Australian, Pole, Palestinian and a dual US-Canadian citizen-were travelling in two armoured cars displaying the logo of the World Central Kitchen (WCK), and another vehicle, when their convoy was hit. The strike occurred.
despite the charity saying it had been co-ordinating its movements with the Israeli Defence Forces and took place after the vehicles had left the charity's warehouse in Deir al-Balah.
In response, a spokesman for the Israel Defence Forces said it "expressed the deepest condolences" to the families of the victims. In a video message, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari added: "We will get to the bottom of this." The convoy had been unloading more than 100 tons of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza by sea.
