County designers behind stunning gardens created for massive show

MEDITATION PLOT AND CALMING, ALL-BLUE BORDER WILL BE AMONG THE EXHIBITS

TALENTED garden designers from Derbyshire are set to inspire tens of thousands of visitors at BBC Gardeners' World Live at the NEC Birmingham with their show gardens.

Sarah Coe from Derby College Group's Broomfield Hall Campus in Ilkeston has designed the Vihara Meditation Garden for the Birmingham Buddhist Vihara Temple.

Built on Buddhist principles, this sustainable show garden will be a tranquil space for mindfulness, meditation, and connection with nature, using reclaimed materials.

The garden’s gentle undulations will offer spaces to sit or recline, to relax and reflect, with a Bodhi-like tree providing a central meditation point.

From Swarkestone, designer Carleen Osborne presents Just a Garden ... a Showcase Garden inspired by her love of plants, simplicity and a sustainable gardening ethos. Her message is that anyone can achieve a garden to enjoy and which respects wildlife and the environment.

Always popular at BBC Gardeners’ World Live, the small but perfectly formed Beautiful Borders are miniature show gardens measuring 9 sq m, packed with creative planting and design inspiration for small gardens and difficult spaces.

The theme for this year is ‘Cultivating Connections’ and designers have been quick to take up the challenge.
