City of Glasgow College announced the compulsory redundancies in a meeting with union officials yesterday.
The majority of the jobs are teaching posts.
An EIS-FELA rep said: "We were given no prior sight of what college management have stated is a substantial business case behind the proposals to make up to 100 staff redundant.
