IT'S taken five years but the Roy dynasty finally had their eyes on the prize in the series finale of Succession, when we found out who who'd take charge of multibillion media empire Waystar Royco for good.
Of course, even though there was a winner, they were all losers. We go into the final ep knowing that Kendall (Jeremy Strong) is brooding that his dad never saw him as a success. Shiv (Sarah Snook) may live up to her name and knife her brothers just when it matters the most. And Roman (Kieran Culkin) is struggling to hold it together after the death of his dad.
Kendall had looked like he'd get the prize his father Logan (Brian Cox) promised him as a child on a trip to a sweet shop. Shiv and Roman had set aside their rivalries and backed Kendall, a decision they commemorated with a smoothie made up of bread, eggs, Branston Pickle and spit.
He drank some of it, then had the rest poured over his head, as if they were anointing a king. Was Kendall getting what he wants but does not deserve? Or will his role in the death of a waiter in the first series finally be his undoing?
