- Dad John, 47, shot dead in tiny village of Teangue
- Police race to property in Dornie after shots heard
- Woman, 32, seriously hurt in nearby Tarskavaig
- Man, 39, arrested in connection with incidents
A DAD has died and three people have been injured during a series of alleged incidents involving a firearm in the Highlands.
A 47-year-old man, named locally as John MacKinnon, is believed to have been shot dead at about 9.30am yesterday in Teangue, Skye.
Police had earlier raced to Tarskavaig, also on the island, after reports a 32-year-old woman had been seriously injured at about 9am.
The woman was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Her condition was not known last night.
Following reports of gunfire at a property in Teangue, officers attended the scene, where John was pronounced dead. Another incident at a property in Dornie, Wester Ross, was reported to police after gunfire was heard.
It is believed to be the home of a local osteopath and his social worker wife.
