Caretaker Leven wants club to build from a firm footing

PETER LEVEN believes there have been too many changes at Aberdeen and insists the club need to put a plan in place then stick with it long-term.

The Dons have savoured a Scottish Cup triumph and two European campaigns in recent years but they've also had bottom-six finishes and that looks to be the case again this season.

Leven is in interim charge for a third time as the club continue their push to appoint Eirik Horneland as manager although that is being held up by "unforeseen circumstances" outside of football.

The caretaker gaffer knows that it has gone from one extreme to the other and wants to see a period of stability.

Leven said: "There has been a lot of change with players and managers. We just need to get consistency and build a team that fits the Aberdeen way and stick with it.

"There has been a lot of formation changes, a lot of tactical changes and things like that. We just need to get something where we can go forward and stick with it.

"A long-term plan to build a team the fans are excited for and everyone knows this is how we play."
