WILLY GNONTO wants to help Leeds get back to the Premier League to repay the fans for demanding a move last summer.
Gnonto admits he was wrong to hand in a transfer request last August in an attempt to force through a transfer to Everton because he did not want to play in the Championship.
Boss Daniel Farke left the striker out before he climbed down and pledged his future to Leeds.
Gnonto scored on his return at Ipswich at the end of that month and says he has learned from his mistake. "Yes, I can say so," the Italian said. "That was the first time in my career that I found myself in that type of situation.
"There have been many mistakes in this period. I'm not only speaking for myself, different people were involved. Looking back now, it was a moment when I had the chance to grow up as a player and as a man.
