A top-knock of 116 by Dhanajaya de Silva and half tons by Pavan Ratnayake and Sahan Kosala helped CCC, resuming from their overnight score of 206/2, to amass a formidable score of 452/9 declared against Nugegoda S&WC on day two of the Major Club Tier ‘A’ three-day cricket encounter played at R. Premadasa Stadium.
CCC's score came on the back of two valuable partnerships of 158 runs for the third wicket between Dhananjaya and Sahan and 130 runs for the fourth wicket between Pavan and Sonal Dinusha. Nugegoda S&WC, in their turn, ended the day on 141/5.
An enterprising 152 in 176 balls, inclusive of nine and four sixes, by Dinesh Chandinmal paved the way for Colts CC to end the day on 5329/8 in reply to Chilaw Marians CC's score of 232 in the match played at P Sara Stadium.
A ton by Sharujan Shanmuganathan saw Tamil Union C&AC make a score of 347 against Badureliya SC, who ended the day on 68/2 at CCC ground.
The matches will continue today.
