Sex predator teacher given six years in jail

A TEACHER who groomed and had sex with two teenage boys, and became pregnant by one of them, has been jailed after a judge slammed her "breathtaking arrogance".

Rebecca Joynes, 30, was already suspended from her high school job and on bail for alleged sexual activity with Boy A, 15, when she took the virginity of second teen, Boy B-falling pregnant by him.

She had a daughter with Boy B, but told Manchester Crown Court she only had sex with him after he had left school and she had been sacked from her role.

Yesterday at Manchester Crown Court parents of both boys watched as Joynes shook and broke down in tears when handed her prison term.

Arrogance

Jailing her for six-and-a-half years, Judge Kate Cornell told Joynes: "There is a breathtaking arrogance in your conduct. You were the adult. You were the person in control, the person who should have known better, and entrusted by the school and the boys and by their parents of caring for their sons.
