'I did not believe Sturgeon for a minute... she could cry from one eye if she wanted'

SCOTTISH Secretary Alister Jack has rejected Nicola Sturgeon's claim that she had not sought to politicise the pandemic insisting that he "didn't believe her for a minute".

The former First Minister had fought back tears at the Covid Inquiry, saying she took "very, very seriously" accusations that she had sought a different approach to the virus from the UK Government's in order to push the cause of Scottish independence.

Ms Sturgeon added: "For as long as I live, I will carry the impact of these decisions, I will carry regret at the decisions and judgments I got wrong. My motivation was nothing other than trying to do the best in the face of this pandemic."
