TV favourite Larry Lamb on whether there'll be another Gavin & Stacey special and why he's championing Marie Curie - for the sake of his beloved brother
'Alison and I caused a stir when we drove into Barry Island'

Нe's a familiar TV face with iconic roles in EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey, and this month actor Larry Lamb is using his fame to support Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal, in tribute to his late brother, Wesley. Here, Larry discusses his passion for the charity and reveals his feelings about a Gavin & Stacey reunion...

How did you get involved with the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal?

It was through my dear beloved brother. He was living in Newcastle and had a long battle with cancer. Marie Curie helped him at home, then eventually in one of their hospices. I went up there and spent what turned out to be the last week of his life with him. Not only were the staff looking after him, but they made me comfortable there, too. I slept in the room with him as he gradually passed away. The staff were just extraordinary.

Did that experience open your eyes to their work?

Previously, I'd never really been involved with the work they did. So, to see them and the way they work, the way they talk to people. They make sure that everyone is involved and make you feel as though you're part of a little community, all going through something together. It was an extraordinary experience.

So, we imagine it wasn't a difficult decision for you to get involved with the charity?
