Joining housebuilder was 'no brainer' for apprentice

NATHAN, 20, SHARES INSIGHT INTO BENEFITS OF HIS HANDS-ON ROLE

IN recognition of World Youth Skills Day last month, a 20-year-old apprentice has shared an insight into his role with a housebuilder as he gains hands-on experience.

Nathan Hunt, from Burton-on-Trent, joined Barratt Homes in September 2024 after he had previously attended college to study carpentry and multi-skills.

He is currently working at Bertelin Fields, in Stafford, while studying at Stephenson College in Leicestershire.

On his apprenticeship, Nathan said: "When I was doing the multi-skills at college, it was definitely carpentry I enjoyed the most.

"During college, I came across an advert for apprenticeships with Barratt Homes and it was a no-brainer to work with such a big company.

"I'm based on site for most of my apprenticeship and attend college on block release. I much prefer being hands on, and working outside is great.
